WHY CHOOSE ME?
I am a professional artist, working mainly on a commission basis. I do sometimes work in other mediums, but I am most comfortable with graphite.
Because I work purely from your photographs, it is possible to create a drawing of multiple subjects from separate references. This means I can produce a work of art that may include subjects who are both alive and lost, potentially spanning generations. I have in the past created drawings of people who are no longer with us, holding a new baby in the family. A new family member can be bittersweet when there are loved ones missing, so this kind of portrait can be really comforting.
All of my drawings are produced with high quality art materials. I use Faber-Castell pencils, a variety of blending stumps and erasers, and work on Winsor & Newton Smooth Surface Cartridge Paper - this is a heavyweight paper that has a slight creamy tone to it. I've tried various papers over the years but feel that I can the highest level of detail on this one.

“I've commissioned Laura 3 times now over the course of a 7 year friendship and I can say happily that I would never go to anyone else. She takes a very personal approach and so much love goes into the work she does. She's provided solace for friends who have lost animals and memories that will last a life time."
